Christmas Shutdown Reminder [01 November 2024]

As we head into the end of the year, we ask that you speak with your client to understand their Christmas shutdown dates immediately (if you haven’t done so yet). Then, please ensure that your holiday leaves between now and the end of the year have been approved by your client and entered into Staff Central by Thursday, 05 December 2024
 
You have the following options to cover for the Christmas / New Year shutdown: 

  • Use 2024 SIL & HLC – Use your available leave credits to cover for the December shutdown dates. If you have remaining SILs, you can rollover a maximum of 5 SILs to 2025 to support the New Year shutdown period. Please note the rollover of SIL must be approved by your client. 
  • Use 2025 HLC in advance – If you have no available leave credits to cover for December, these leaves will be unpaid. However, you can use 2025 HLC in advance to support the New Year shutdown period (for example 2-3 January). On 1 January 2025, all 2025 HLC will be awarded and can be used immediately. 

Also, please note of the following key dates:  

  • 05 December – This is the last day for team members to nominate rollover leaves (maximum of 5) to 2025.  
  • 05 December – This is also the final day for team members to file 2024 leaves. Team members that take unplanned leave after this date will take ‘unpaid leave’.
