Marcos Jr has just declared a Special Non-working Holiday on Friday, 24 February under Proclamation No. 167 “to enable Filipinos to enjoy the benefits of holiday economics.” This is in line with the celebration of the EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary.

As previously communicated, many clients have already scheduled shutdown for the Christmas and New Year period. Please make sure you have spoken with your client to understand if this impacts you. Then, please ensure that your holiday leaves between now and the end of the year have been approved by your client and entered into Staff Central under ‘Planned Holiday Offset’.

As you are all aware, the 2022 Philippine Presidential Election will be held on Monday, 9 May 2022 and it is a regular practice for the President to declare the election date as a “Special Non-Working Holiday” at short notice.
